Description
The Mathematics Graduation Program at the Federal University of Ceará is one of the precursors programs in Brazil of graduation research and teaching on the several fields of pure and applied mathematics. It was created in 1965 and promotes, since then, broad and deep dissemination of mathematical knowledge in its region, which implies a fundamental strategic importance as a center of interaction for international renamed researches and to which incur students of several origins. The present design of the program was initially outlined in 1995 with the creation of the PhD in Mathematics, as a consequence of the continuos effort in formation and research in this institution. The concentration area of the program is “Mathematics” and its research lines are, at this moment, “Analysis and PDE”, “Combinatorics”, “Geometry”, “Singularities and Topology” and “Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory”.
